Lebanese Muay Thai fighter Omar El Halabi suffered a loss on his ONE debut at ONE Friday Fights 40 in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday 10 November.

In a Catchweight (57.15 KG) Muay Thai bout, the 25-year-old Lebanese fighter employed a cautious, counter-attacking approach in the first round as his Spanish counterpart Xavier Gonzalez seemed more dangerous, connecting with low kicks, uppercuts, and punches to the body.

Early in the second round, Omar El Halabi charged forward, but Gonzalez countered well with elbow strikes and punches to the body. El Halabi connected with punching combinations and an uppercut while the 22-year-old Spanish fighter struck back with a powerful knee to the body.

In the third round, the two men traded strikes and elbows. The dynamic Omar El Halabi threw explosive punches, looking for a knockout that would save the fight, but Gonzalez never lost control, hitting back on the counter.

With his ONE debut loss, Omar El Halabi’s overall record slips to 20-6-2. Meanwhile, Gonzalez picks up his second straight win in ONE, raising his promotional record to 2-2.
