PFL acquires Bellator” is possibly the biggest headline in martial arts news today – and for good reason.

The purchase by Washington-based PFL, which held its first event in 2018, is being touted as a landmark deal for combat sports.

Less than $100 million: The cost of the deal, according to Sportico, which is far less than the previously rumored figures between $200-$500 million. Still, the figure is double the amount Paramount Global paid to buy Bellator in 2011.

210: The number of fighters under contract at Bellator who will remain at the reshaped brand if they want to, according to PFL president Donn Davis.

36: The number of fighters at PFL who are ranked in the Top 15 across all MMA weight classes, according to PFL CEO Peter Murray.

38: The number of events PFL aims to hold in 2024 with the addition of Bellator, PPV, PFL MENA, Global season, PFL Europe, and PFL Challenge – an increase from 22 events held by the end of 2023.

$100 million: The amount of money that SRJ Sports Investment – a company founded by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund – invested into PFL in August 2023.
