ONE Flyweight Kickboxing champion Superlek Kiatmoo commented on the skills of his next challenger Algeria’s Elias Mahmoudi.
Mahmoudi will challenge Superlek for his world title at the main event of ONE Fight Night 18 in January.
The 28-year-old Thai star is on an impressive eight-win-streak, having last defeated his compatriot ONE Flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE Friday Fights 34.
Anticipating his next challenge against Mahmoudi, Superlek spoke at today’s ONE Fight Night 17, saying: “I’ve been watching him. He is very well rounded and has a lot of scary techniques”.
Nicknamed “The Sniper”, the 25-year-old Algerian returned from an injury in August, picking up an emphatic knockout victory against Mexico’s Edgar Tabares. Mahmoudi is a former champion in WMF, WPMF, and MTGP.
Earlier today, ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing world champion Roman Kryklia was crowned as the inaugural ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai world champion after defeating WBC Heavyweight Muay Thai champion Alex Roberts via second-round knockout in the main event of ONE Fight Night 17.
Meanwhile, Algeria’s Mohamed Younes Rabah picked up the biggest upset of the event, dropping third-ranked Bantamweight Muay Thai star Saemapetch Fairtex with a second-round knockout.
Morocco’s Mouhcine Chafi endured his second straight loss on his second ONE fight, losing via first-round knockout against Dmitry Menshikov.
