Algeria‘s Mohamed Younes Rabah stunned Saemapetch Fairtex on his debut, picking up an impressive knockout win.
Rabah put his massive height and reach advantage to his favor in a Bantamweight Muay Thai contest in which neither athlete shied away from trading heavy strikes.
Ranked third in ONE’s Bantamweight Muay Thai division, Saemapetch opened the bout with punches and a push kick to keep the towering Algerian’s threat away.
Rabah answered with a high right kick, but the Thai star managed to drop his Algerian counterpart midway through the round. Instantly, Rabah came back with a knockdown of his own.
Rabah continued to charge forward, cornering the Thai with punches before the two fighters clinched.
Saemapetch shook Rabah with a big right hand, but the Algerian retaliated, dropping his Thai opponent for the second time and quickly struck him with a knee, knocking him out at 2:29 of the first round.
Nicknamed “The Eagle”, the 26-year-old Rabah kept his clean professional slate, raising his overall record to 14-0.
Meanwhile Saemapetch’s overall record drops to 126-20.
