Algeria‘s Nabil Anane picked up a memorable unanimous decision win against Muangthai PK Saenchai at ONE Friday Fights 46.
The 19-year-old Algerian dominated the Catchweight Muay Thai (61.69 KG) bout, utilizing his height advantage to strike from a distance.
In the first round, Anane used long-range jabs and right high kicks to the head while Muangthai targeted the Algeria‘s long legs with low kicks.
After suffering a cut right above his right eye, Muangthai connected with a clean left hook. Anane charged forward with punching combinations.
Muangthai opened the second frame with a quick attack that was countered by Anane who used jabs and long kicks effectively. In the last minute of the round, Anane rode his growing momentum, driving forward as he looked to finish his opponent. The Algerian drove his Thai counterpart into the ring’s corner with an all-out attack, only for the bell to save the latter.
In the third and final round, Anane continued his attack, using punching and kicking combinations. Muangthai tried to trap the Algerian into the corner but the latter used his footwork well, circling his Thai counterpart into safety.
Anane knocked Muangthai down for the first time in the bout midway through the third round but later fell himself onto the canvas as he mistargeted a punch. Muangthai pounced at the opportunity to counterattack before the final bell sounded.
With this win, Anane raises his record at the martial arts organization to 2-1. The Algerian upped his impressive overall professional record to 35-5-1.
After his debut loss against ONE Flyweight Kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo, Anane now makes it two wins in a row at ONE, having beaten Nakrob Fairtex via a second-round knockout in September.
Meanwhile the 29-year-old Thai’s record drops to 7-3 in ONE while his overall professional record now stands at 204-44-4.
